Very, very cool! This is just a preset in a plugin? So it should be very easy for a beginner?

If you want to spend some money on some good software that can do many other things with, Adobe After Effects Pro 6.5 has a motion tracker that can be used to stabilize shake.

I’m running Vegas 5 and DVDA2 on an Asus P4C800-E Deluxe along with a P4 3.0C and 1 gig Corsair PC4000 high speed memory with no problems. I’ve got the processor overclocked to a 3.6Ghz and it is completely stable.

So then if I wanted to say create a directors comments for some highlight videos only, how do I create a menu button for those comments? Or does it just go to the audio button on your remote?

When you lay down this “second” angle, do you also have to lay down the audio for that “second” clip or does DVDA build the DVD so it is using the audio from the 1st clip?

May 20, 2005 at 3:42 pm in reply to: Any speed improvements with Vegas6 and an AMD Athlon 64 processor? So if I had a firewire or USB2.0 external HD it would render faster because it was not the system drive? Actually I’m going to be hooking up a Firestore FS-4 to this, probably the 40gig model. But I could also bring along an external HD.

Good review! See that’s what I have been hearing too is that the Centrinos are not that much slower than the P4’s and run cooler, longer and save you a lot of cash! You can use that extra cash to get yourself a good external hard drive and you are set to edit on the road! Or load it up with even more memory.

As with any of the Vegas products, they rely heavily on processor power and bus speed. The P4’s give you that but are harder on the batteries. If your going to be using AC to power it, then that will be of no concern. In tests using Vegas 5 and a Centrino processor on a laptop a friend of mine discovered that the Centrino does not run that much behind a P4 in rendering. When he added up the savings on the cost of the processor, the extended battery life and the amount of heat that the P4 generates he was very happy he went with a laptop that had the Centrino processor. I would get at least 1 gig of high speed memory if possible also.
