    John,

I have still not taken the plunge with a new camera. I have been sorely tempted by the Sony AX2000e, but have seen the HDR-FX7. The FX7 seems to be quite a bit older, and does not appear to record at the higher resolution of the AX2000.

Would you have had any experience to be able to compare the two? I understand your comments about editing with AVCHD – I have tested some in Vegas 10, and I certainly would need to upgrade my machine as well…

I am also concerned about ‘future-proofing’ my investment – and so was wondering if the 1080 vs 1920 issue would limit me in the future..

    Thanks

Thanks all – great suggestions – and a great start. I knew vegas had all I needed – very very happy with the results so far.

Started with the noise reduction as suggested, then created 4 tracks of the same audio, pitch shifted the first down by 4, then the second down by 8 and the third down by 12 (preserving duration) – added some +ve bass eq to all, and some EQ at the top end for the lower tracks and it makes it much ‘crisper’, chorus to the lower two and some reverb to the three pitch-shifted ones..

    Thanks again.

Please refrain from posting such questions here – this forum is for legitimate users of the software tools referenced. As a software developer I take grave exception to people asking how to steal other developer’s products.

Sorry, please ignore this post. Spent a couple of hours trying to go through every setting in the extruded effect for this – had not considered dropping another effect on it – the BCC Drop Shadow does this perfectly.

Sorted – and in fact – this led me to organise the effects according to groups as suggested several times by JR – there are so many effects it really makes sense to do this…

    John,

Never thought of the duplicate image – I was trying to position the text in 3d space, and thinking that varying the Z value would place it in front or behind another object and then to mess about with transparency.

Did as you suggested – worked perfectly..

    Thanks,

    John,

After much playing about with the logo and editing in inkscape I got something close to what I was looking for – thanks again.

    John,

Many thanks – I thought I had seen all the tutorials but must have missed this one – exactly what I was looking for. Pro certainly opens new doors…

    Thank you

    Jihn,

Many thanks for the suggestions – great starting points.

I had had a look at blender recently – wow that is one busy interface- you kind of get the feeling that it is sitting their growling at you waiting to snap at you if you try to use it…

    Alan,

Again I apprecate the quick response.

For some reason, when I reformatted my machine last month, but it appears I had used from the original dell drivers disc.. apologies – I thought I had the latest. I have loaded them now and it has been running for about 20 minutes…

    Thanks
