Ok – interesting – I did not know you could run it stand-alone. I notice when I run it S/A there is no option to save/render the output. IS there a plan to provide this facility, or is it now assumed that the host will always handle the rendering?

    Thanks

    Greg,

Have you tried opening the nested project directly on its own in Vegas? When I had this before it was due to some missing media which opening as a nested project just hung, but when opening it directly it told me what was missing.

Yes, using it within Vegas Pro (15 and 16). Have been able to modify a few older projects I did and wanted to change them to wide-screen/HD for 5mt x 3mt video-wall backgrounds. Have also had some success adding effects directly to other video for similar situations.

I have no questions at present because it just works… I may not be pushing it to its limits and I know there is a load more I can be doing with it – but that will come.

April 17, 2019 at 4:07 pm in reply to: Burning to DVD Architect proper settings

Vegas includes DVD-Architect-friendly templates in the MPEG-2 section as standard If you use one of them and leave everything but the bit-rate as is (adjust the BR to suit the size of the rendered file v quality) DVDA will ingest those files and use them as-is. It will create the DVD without the need to re-encode – which will impact quality and take much, much longer.

Also, remember to create a separate AC3 audio render in the same directory as your MPG file, with the same name and DVD will ingest the audio automatically once you drag in the mpg file.

    Hope this helps.

  • Bill,

As others have said, as long as you mention the version of Vegas you are running then you will be fine. The help I have got here over the years has been invaluable, and I regularly find myself coming back, searching the archive and finding the answer to what I am trying to do in the forum. If I cannot find it, someone will invariably suggest an answer. Then, as you grow more proficient, you might take the opportunity to answer questions raised by others. I find little has changed in terms of basic functionality over the past few versions – the biggest change for me has been the UI layout – and frankly some of the changes made seem counter-intuitive, but that is just m,y opinion.

I have been a user since VP9 – when I moved over from Pinnacle Studio – and I have never looked back.

Welcome to the community – it is a vibrant, supportive one – so ask away…

  • Bill,

Your tracks may all be ‘grouped’. When you first add an event that has both audio and video tracks all the tracks are automatically ‘grouped’ into a single group to ensure they stay together if you move them around the timeline, trim them etc. If you try to delete any track in the group the entire group will usually be deleted. If you highlight the track that you want to delete, then press the letter ‘U’ that track should be removed from the group. You should then be able to delete just that track.

    Hope this helps

  • Mary,

Thanks for the pointers and info – I’ll review these links and get back if there are specific questions.

    Thanks

You can ignore this request – you have to drop the effect onto the track, not the event/media. Once you do that it works fine.

I know this is probably the longest time period for a reply to a thread but here goes..

The demo file for the seamless-looping tutorial referenced in the previous post is no longer available at the location below – would anybody by any chance have a copy of it, or know where it can be found?

    Many thanks,
