EPS images not loading
BCC 7 – latest, Vegas pro 10c
Newbie w.r.t. Boris/Extruding EPS etc…
I am trying to get to grips with BCC and eps file handling. I am working on a school’s logo for use in a show there, and I want to extrude it to give it a 3d effect. I will then be using the facilities reference in the ‘killer title in for vegas’ webinar to rotate text about the eps logo.
I received an eps of the logo from their printer. However, the problem I have is that the majority of eps images I have will not show in BCC when I try to load them – and the one that will show does not appear to import correctly. I have little doubt that it is something I am doing incorrectly.
For example, The eps of the logo will open perfectly in Scribus (I do not have Illustrator – I use Scribus for any DTP-type documents)
When I try to open it in Vegas – nothing…
I know it will not be possible to diagnose the problem on the basis of the info supplied – and I assume the problem is down to some sort of incompatibility in the .eps or something to do with how I am trying to load the file.
My question is whether there is an equivalent to ‘gspot’ or ‘mediainfo’ which gives an analysis of a .eps or .ai file, and would therefore help me highlight where any incompatibility might lie in the file. I am having even less luck with .ai files…. – nothing at all either – and no error.
For example – the following location contains a zip of an .ai file: https://freegraphicsart.com/download/12 – and it will not load, and there is no error.
The following link contains an eps of a pencil – https://freegraphicsart.com/download/37 – and that will not load either – again no error.
The one eps I have been able to load does not even load properly – for example when I import it into Scribus it imports perfectly, but in BCC it is not imported correctly.
Here is a screenshot of the eps logo file as loaded into Scribus:
And here it is loaded into BCC/Vegas
Would anybody have any suggestions as to where to start looking for reasons for the difference on import? I realise that I may not be supplying sufficient info – so if any further info is required I will supply..
Apologies for the long post….
Thank you.
