If I’m not mistaken, Home Depot is where I got it. We use it to keep from turning off the wrong circuits. I also carry a sheet of red labels with different things printed on them and some blank ones so we can write them on site.

I’ve never had a card fail in the entire 9 months we’ve been using them. We have all sorts of flash memory in our lives: still cameras, audio recorders, thumb drives and whatever and I can’t really say that we’ve ever lost anything. Tape? Drop a cassette and drop your lunch.
My problem with the card is where to keep the footage. We just bought an LG 50G BluRay burner and that’s where we’re going to try to store files. Haven’t got it to work exactly right yet but we’ll do that next week. The factv that they hold as much as 10 DVDs is exciting. Until we have halographic discs. Then what?
I can’t imagine how much room it would take to store my 26 year library.

When we use the 44B, we set the impedance to -60. Don’t know how that would effect the max sound level but we have peaked the audio before.
Also, you might turn that wind filter off.
Shouldn’t the EXT audio be set to ch1 and ch2?
You might head over to audio pros and ask Ty Ford. he knows everything.

We carry a roll of thick plastic sheeting (10×25) that we bought at Home Depot. We bought it to keep paint from splashing onto our production van but one time we needed just a little something to shave the edge off the sun and protect the talent from some rain sprinkles. It worked surprisingly well for an accidental fix. Don’t remember the price but it was under $20.

We raised our rates a short time ago because we hired someone that was going to cost us more money. We’re now able to offer a sweeter product and we feel that we’ve raised the bar.
Lowering your price shows that you don’t have confidence in yourself and that is a big red flag.

I’ve had tapes malfunction about 5 times over the years, including and HDCAM tape. We run the risk.
The card thing drives me wacky sometime. I grab the cards of the shelf, drive to the job and Bang, there’s footage on the card. Was it downloaded or not?
There will be options in the near future. The 60Gb Sony drive is small but that can’t last. We ALL told them at NAB that 60 Gigs is insufficient.
Compared to the Panasonic HVX200, the EX-1 is an entirely new animal. The workflow is almost too easy. Our other HD camera is an F-900 so we know the real deal and the EX-1 is a great little camera for almost no money.

What a pathetic remark. You CANNOT shoot 4k. It’s a box. Nothing more. Until you add the items that you said to ignore. You are one of the suckers that their marketing plays to. Hey, I can buy a new Corvette for $18k. But hey, it doesn’t have an engine. But so what? It’s a Corvette, right? No. It’s a box, just like the Red.
In other words, for $18K, you cannot record one frame of anything, or can you? It doesn’t even have a handle to carry it around. It just lays on a table. But, you could put it on a table and pray to it.
The Red camera is for serious professionals. The complete kit and the gear needed to edit the files are way up there, my friend. To do it right will cost you between $75k and $100k. Anything less than that is a joke.
The sad part is that they will sell so many of them that they will be worth nothing on the rental market because there will always be some desperate guy who will take anything more that a promise just trying to recoup anything.
