No. One firmware was written in Japan (900/3) and one was written somewhere in europe (900R). We are not happy about this.

You can go either way. The timecode system on cameras is not crystal sync so it drifts. The 702/744 is probably more accurate.
For verfication, at least ask the rental house or better yet, call Location Sound or Trew Audio and talk to them. We usually pull TC from the slate.
Also, we normally use an Azden wireless mic system to send the TC wireless to the camera instead of using cables.

Ron and others,
Please accept mine and Jackie’s deepest condolences on the passing of your son and grandson.
On September 15, 1990, my son left a shoot we were on the go to an outdoor concert. The last thing he said was “I love you, Dad”. At the L.A. Guns concert that evening, a storm blew in and drowned them out. My son never made it to his car and they found him in a ditch with running water. The cops thought he was a drug overdose but he had burns on his legs. We figured out later that he had been hit by lightning. Living in a semi comatose state for 5 years, he passed away at 27 years old from phnemonia.
The pain never lessens, even after 13 years. But, the one positive thing in all of this was that we had the tightest bond that a father and son can have. His last words ring in my ears often.
Regardless of what the circumstances were on Monday, Ron, years from now, those four words will ring loud and clear and they will work hard to overcome the seemingly unbearable pain and sorrow.
It made me realize that we fight and argue with our loved ones over nothing. It might seem like something at the time, but it’s still nothing.
In the 22 years we had together before the accident, he said a lot of things. But those final words make me proud of the man he was.
I wish I could be there to give you both a hug. You have my prayers. God Bless You

There are quite a few people here who have product for sale. Go up top and look under library.
But, If you think this is hostile, let’s get Bob Zelin in here to take over.
Seriously, there is no hostility, just a bunch of people talking to you like you’re one of the guys. If you’re looking for a bunch of syrupy, nicer than nice phonies, than you might be in the wrong place but this is reality.
Maybe you should start your post with “My feelings are easily hurt, but…”. A lot of people do that and we treat them accordingly. Just let us know.
It’s too bad that all of the product suppliers in the world don’t do as you do and keep the cost of goods sold at less than 10%. In the grocery business, they have a profit margin of about 3%. Using your method, a frozen pizza should cost around $45. I better stock up before they discover what the price should be.
Now I know why gas costs what gas costs.

I’m with Noah. If you purchased from a reputable dealer, they will ship a new camera and you return the one you have. If you bought from B&H, you’re probably screwed.

That “createspace” system from Amazon is pretty much the norm and actually on the generous side. If you put your product on a store shelf, you’d be lucky to get 40%. This isn’t a business where you pay someone 10% commission on sales.
