It looks like they had stock footage of a water ripple that they applied Trapcode starglow to then used 3d stroke with shine or starglow for the transition to the logo. I am not really sure where to get the stock water ripple but I have seen it alot so I know its out there. Hope this helps. Good Luck

Most of us have that same problem here at the our studio. We haven’t pin-pointed the issue and Adobe tech support was absolutely no help. We have the problem with all diffferent types of video cards, although they are all NVidia Chipset of some variety, but I dont think its a video problem. The only thing that seems to fix it is closing afx and re-opening. If anybody can shed some more light on this problem I would worship the ground that you walk on.

    You’re not alone.

I am not aware of an actual limit, however I have worked with projects with very odd aspect ratios i.e. 14790 X 48, and it still seems to handle it fine. As you mentioned it prob. depends on your system. I have however, had issues with output of large comps and I found that it really depends on the codec that you use. Uncompressed quicktime usually works, but a tga sequence is most likely your best bet. I hope this helps. Good Luck!

I would imagine if you did a quick google search for your question, you might find some rumors. I wouldn’t know though 😉

In the sapphire plugin suite there is are about 12 different plugins to deal with just this. I haven’t used the S_RemoveFlicker but all of there other plugins work extremely well. Definatly worth checking it out. Good luck.

June 20, 2005 at 9:18 pm in reply to: How to achieve this text animation

there is a program, called SwishMax that is used for text effects with flash. It has hundreds of text presets that you can apply to specific copy and export to swf, avi or html with a flash embedded animation.
I use it alot for after fx, and export the animations to avi. Check it out. this will do what you are looking for.

It looks like those flashes are created from a Library called Clip FX. They appear to be just stock film flashes. One neat way to achieve a film flash is with Sapphire Glow. Hope this helps.

April 29, 2005 at 3:56 pm in reply to: newbie—- need help to reduce rendering time

Depending on several things such as your drive/network speed where your imagery is being pulled from, pre-rendering your nested comps can actually slow your final render down if you are dealing with imagery of this large size especially if all of your pre-renders have alpha channels embedded. I suspect that your slow down might me that you are squashing the 2:50 comps down to 4:3, especially if your original .psd’s are large. You might try rendering your final comp at it’s native 2:50 res. to a photo jpeg QuickTime file, then
bring your rendered .mov back in and squash it to 4:3. It seems weird but if you consider that AFX is rendering all of your layers and any applying effects at 2:50 then squashing that down, the hours will quickly add up. Also, if you are rendering with audio as well, wait until you render your 4:3 version to marry the video and audio. This will speed up the process and free up ram. I hope this helps, or even makes sense for that matter.
