Thank you for reply and answer John, that\’s good to know (and good news!)

Thank you so much for that reply Russ. I did try all that you said, hence late response (plus Xmas with the kids!). Boris 32 bit, like you, I couldn’t find. I tried lightworks – very good indeed for free but didn’t find any advantage, or next step up, over my vegas chroma key that I was looking for (but that might be my failings of not using it well enough). CineGobs was very interesting but too limited in formats. I went through lots of others but no great discovery. I’m resigned to having to get an upgrade I think but with a second hand pro mac with pro vegas I hope I’ll wonder why I didn’t do it ages ago!! …but thanks so much for your time trying to assist me, really appreciated and I hope this post helps others in the same outdated position as me!

Hi John, thank you (once again) for your support. I tried newblue but they seem to have changed somewhat recently and only selling bundles and what appears to be for vegas pro only, well from what I can see from the front end of their website, so they didn’t work for me. I had a read around at chroma key editing technique tutorial videos and listen to some of yours, really excellent btw, and then enjoyed your info page, love the old bands page (all a bit like mine would read!), and your lovely tribute to your folks. I read however you have moved to macs now, would this be your advice to someone like me looking for a serious upgrade step up?

Thank you Russ, I will do. I have been doing lots of google searches, mostly in vain, but I hadn’t come across that product name and it makes a big difference to know someone else can approve something.
many kind regards

October 8, 2014 at 11:20 pm in reply to: newblue motionblend fx install problems in sony vegas 12really sad – still waiting 8 days on since last post and New Blue still can’t even say sorry or act like they value me as a customer. The fact is if they showed some hint of decent customer care I would respect them in return and more than likely buy other packages in the near future but unfortunately they seem to be above caring about the ordinary customer. Just thought I’d post this to warn other Vegas users about New Blue.

October 1, 2014 at 8:50 pm in reply to: newblue motionblend fx install problems in sony vegas 12Although their bug I found wasted lots and lots of hours of my time I have not received an apology or any form of compensation, say another bundle of software for free, which would have been nice and respectful.

September 30, 2014 at 5:38 pm in reply to: newblue motionblend fx install problems in sony vegas 12Problem solved. The installer for the newblue motionblends had its ‘common file’ option defaulted as unchecked. The official newblue advice was also to have everything unchecked except the software option (i.e. Sony Vegas OpenFX in this case) so I always assumed common files shouldn’t be checked as instructions said uncheck everything. Apparently Newblue tell me the installer shouldn’t have had the option to even uncheck ‘common files’ or default as unchecked, but has since discovered this as a fault and seen it happening through their own testing …it wasted me a lot of hours and no sign of an apology or offering for it, thanks Newblue! 🙁

November 5, 2013 at 9:50 am in reply to: Thanks Cow …result …advice on free HD surf clipsThank you Thayalan for nice comment, appreciated. Pretty pleased with result given the limited tools I had at hand but always looking at ways to improve. It’s a way off professional but there’s no way I would have done it as well as it was without the amazing support from this COW forum. I wonder how much more I’d would have gained, or can gain, by investing Sony Vegas pro?

June 5, 2013 at 11:03 pm in reply to: Sony Vegas pro 12 keeps stopping rendering to earlyHi Scott I had just the same sort of problem a few days ago (posted a question on this blog). I narrowed it down to the Sony glow effect I’d added to something. Crashed every time it got to it, even on a small file in a new project. I tried loads of things but the one that worked in the end was in:
Options/preferences/video tab – lower the dynamic RAM preview to about 100Mb and lower the maximum number of rendering threads down to 2 (or even one if it crashes on 2).
So it wasn’t corrupted software as I first thought but a memory issues of some sort.
this might not be the answer but it’s worth a try.Steve
