  • Sorry, but we need to keep our terms (e.g. “sequence”) straight:

Your comp in AE was 29.97 fps.
You rendered to a 29.97 Quicktime movie using AE.
You imported a Quicktime movie into FCP.
You exported a Quicktime movie out of FCP.

Change the FCP sequence settings (cmd+0) to 29.97. Make sure frame size and codec also match those of the Quicktime movie you rendered out of AE and imported into FCP.

    Did that help?

Did you place the text in quotes? I just did, and got a manageable number of posts.

It was done with Cinema 4D and the Mograph module.

It’s a mix of images and footage from different altitudes passing through clouds as a transition, since no footage exists from space to a neighbourhood. Unless it’s stock that has been cobbled together as I described. Artbeats?

Search the COW for “cosmic zoom” and “powers of ten”.

Did you search the COW (this forum and the Cinematography forum) for “day for night”?

This would be better done with a 3D app for the bending, and something like Syntheyes for the 3D tracking.

Really, in theory, AE can struggle to fake something, but most of the time, it’s better done in a 3D app. In this case, any one (Max, LW, C4D, Maya, Soft) will do.

    (that’s my opinion …)

  • It does, because vectors don’t actually don’t stay vectors within AE. Everything is rasterized to the comp resolution, so when you zoom into the comp, things look pixellated.

However, when you click the Continuous Rasterization switch, vectors are continuously rasterized to the comp resolution. With the switch off, the vector is rasterized once, at the original AI document size, but when the switch is on, the vector is rasterized at whatever size to which you scale it up (or down) at every frame of the comp.

But it’s rasterized to the comp size, so it only looks clean when viewing at 100% or less in the comp window. Which is normal, and fine.

    Nice.

A 3D application would have been used. Not only is it difficult to bend things in 3D space with After Effects, doing it at that scale would be impossible.

We can’t assume that something promoting software was created with that software. 🙂

  • That’s not much money.
The only mac you can get new for that is an iMac, I’ll wager.
Or you could get a used Quad for that somewhere, maybe.

Whatever you can get for that money, get the fastest processor and most RAM. And budget in a copy of Nucleo Pro, if your new computer supports it.

    Dag, Patrick!

Under “visibility”, you can choose an “obscuration layer”, which would be your logo. Place it below the Particular layer in the timeline.
