    Indeed.

    If you think you might have to adjust the scrolling speed, you might want to tie the scrolling and the offset range with an expression, so if you change one, the other goes with it.

    Just a thought. 🙂

    So in QT Player, you watch MOV2. And inside MOV2, MOV1 looks bad. Right?

    Hmm. Is this the process of importing and rendering?

    MOV1 (OK) -> AE (OK) -> MOV2 (OK).

    MOV2 looks good in Quicktime Player?
    But MOV1 looks bad in Quicktime Player?

    Technically, there is no preview mode in AE — we say “with pixel aspect ratio correction on”. Because it’s always previewing. 😉

    But we’re glad you solved it.

    Double-click the rectangular mask tool to mask the clip. Hit MM and change the mask’s feather and/or expansion values, or drag the mask edges.

    [Mark Dalzell] “My question is, will 16Gb of RAM be sufficient for AE CS3?”

    Uh … yeah. I’d say 4GB is the practical minimum (for me, anyway). 8 GB is comfy.

    Does the text look bad in renders viewed with Quicktime Player, or only in the AE comp window?

    Can you switch off pixel aspect ratio correction in the comp window? If that improves it, you can switch it back on — it doesn’t affect renders.

    Can you disable OpenGL in the AE Prefs? Most users do that.

    Sorry – my assumption was that the corner of the board would be rounded. If it’s mitered (two planes at 90 degrees) then AE would be fine, as long as no 3D motion tracking is required.

    Right-click and change the keyframes to linear interpolation.
