To explain it as simple and basic as possible….
Place the video with the animation with the blue screen on the first timeline and the video with your son on the second timeline below it…..
Then in videofx choose the ‘chroma key’ filter and drag the preset
named ‘pure blue screen’ on the video with the animation with the blue screen.
You should immediately see something happening…from there now, just
toggle the sliders until things look how you want it to. (just hoping iam reading your description correctly).However for a more professional and believable look it involves more
adjustments and the use of more filters including “chroma blur”.
So what i have instructed above is the basic to get you started and

Put it this way…..
Avid as with all other NLE’s out there has their Pros and Cons.
And not because you hear this and that about a editing software
means its the best or the worst. All you hear are feedback from varied users. Purchase a tool (after trying various demos) that
fit your needs and one you are most comfortable using. For me after trying them all, settled on Sony Vegas for countless reasons too many to list here.
Avid has its place in the film editing world to especially handle ‘offline’ editing….wouldn’t be a tool i would recommend for the casual to mid level user. And as you are discovering in your above
post, to achieve certain tasks in Vegas is pretty easy, and not as

Try purchasing a similar camera to the one you already have, to

Well Kary,
Its either one or the other.
Therefore you either need to render your output using the same
resolution you captured them in…..or you capture your fraps
in the first place in the 1024×720 resolution that you will be

Well that is the correct method to do it if you want to avoid the black borders.
Using the same pan/crop window, you could however manually drag the edges(minimizing the box) …until you see no more black borders in the preview window.Steve Rhoden

If this green horizontal line isn’t present on the video during
the editing and rendering process or even when you import the finished
video back in vegas to view….then the problem isn’t with the
video…it is with your windows media player mpeg2 playback.Does this green line shows up while playing other mpeg2 files?
Are you using the default mpeg2 ntsc or Architect video stream

There are other options for Blue-ray authoring, example “DVDit Pro HD”
and “Sonic Scenarist” (very expensive)…But i would highly recommend
