    Hi
I have a video track with corresponding audio track with a right & left channel. On Vegas Pro 8b both the Right & Left audio are on one Audio Track.
What I need to do is keep the right channel & delete the left channel & then copy the right onto the left so what was on the right with the better mic is going to be on both channels.

I’ve learned a lot from the VASST tutorials but so far missed this info if it was there.
Thanks to anyone that can help a newbie.

    Rick:
Fairly simple solution. Right-click on the audio portion. On the drop-down menu, look for where it says “Channels”. Select “Right Only” Your audio track will change to mono in the display, but it will render on both L/R in your final mix.

    Bob,

Thanks so much for the reply. I can’t beleive it’s that simple. I spent so much time in the F1 (help) looking for directions.

I just love Vegas Pro 8b. I use to use Avid & spent a lot on learning it because I don’t work with this stuff & have no friends that do. After learning some on Vegas I feel like I through my money away on Avid. It’s a whole lot of hype & expensive. I can burn a dual layer Blu-ray right from my timeline with a couple of clicks & it works great. Better late than never. Thanks again.

    Put it this way…..
Avid as with all other NLE’s out there has their Pros and Cons.
And not because you hear this and that about a editing software
means its the best or the worst. All you hear are feedback from varied users. Purchase a tool (after trying various demos) that
fit your needs and one you are most comfortable using. For me after trying them all, settled on Sony Vegas for countless reasons too many to list here.
Avid has its place in the film editing world to especially handle ‘offline’ editing….wouldn’t be a tool i would recommend for the casual to mid level user. And as you are discovering in your above
post, to achieve certain tasks in Vegas is pretty easy, and not as
complex as it is with other tools.

No problem, it’s the point of this forum.. 🙂 I had to figure this one out when I switched over to using a Sennheiser MKE-300 shotgun on my camcorder. Since it’s a mini-mono output, it will record onto the left channel only. Vegas makes that easy to deal with.

    Cheers,
    bb
