Where did you learned that vegas could not handle night shot
correction ?
You really had no need to leave vegas and go to final cut to
achieve what you wanted…all you’ve described is possible in
vegas easily.
There are endless manipulation & possibilities using especially
the “color balance” filters in conjunction with the “levels”
filter right there in vegas.
You just need to be patient as you tweak each step of the
filters bit by bit as you go along and visually note what does
what….in no time you will realize that their is no

You are reading into too much information as you said…..
Based on the specs you where given, you simply need to render
your footage in “MPEG-2..DVD NTSC” format.
But first make sure your video is clean and clear…and you do
this by making sure everything is nicely color corrected and
color graded…those are the specs you can read upon right now.
(Dont bother complicating the issue with HD and film like look,

Try run your windows check disc to correct any hidden corrupt
WMV file or just to fix anything thats causing that crash.
I assume you know to do this…(open run & type in chkdsk c:/f)
