I have always recommended that to achieve proper de-interlacing
results, a de-interlacing filter or software must be used.
Setting the various properties in vegas cannot achieve the
proper de-interlacing results one is looking for.

First thing you need to let us know is what format are these
video files in, and what version of vegas have you recently
updated to. However your experience reflects that you
probably don’t have the required codec installed.

AVCHD is still not yet a smooth flowing format to work with….
Therefore adding more memory would improve things a little bit,
but not in the realm of editing your avchd…..if you want to have
the editing power of the Gods…(its gonna cost)…follow this
link and read up on the PC configurations needed to be in smooth
editing heaven:

Exactly…Normally I recommend to render the audio as wave
48,000 Hz, 16 Bit, PCM.

Man, seems like some core programming architecture conflict with
something you have installed on your computer…can’t say what.

Protype titler is really wonderful, but it needs some programming fine
tuning to work out the varied stability bugs….For my
heavy titling tasks, i rely solely on Prodad Heroglyph.

If you render using just the “DVD NTSC” template, its gonna
re-compress.
You need to render using the “DVD Architect video stream”
template, and then render your audio separately.

you need to then give them the same name, so that when you
import in architect both video and audio will be present.
