I’m traying to capture HDV (720-30p from my JVC) in Vegas 8 and set the preferences to NOT enable scene detection…. however Vegas is still making many small clips even when it is not supossed to detect a change in scenes….. never hapeneed before … is this a bug from Vegas 8???

Be aware that HDV Split also affects header files of HDV data, and therefore can create issues in Vegas or Adobe Premiere.
Nothing wrong at all with using another capture app, just be aware that it may not be compatible. Breaking away from the spec has its good points and bad points.
