Instead of using AoA DVD Ripper to rip your DVD, You
only need to insert the DVD and right there in vegas
you go to Import – DVD Camcorder disc…..and vegas will
do the (ripping) for you and conveniently place it on the
timeline in its correct order in great quality and in the
    easily editable format of mpeg2….done

Have you tried any De-interlacing filter as yet?
there is one here called smart Deinterlace:
    https://www.mikecrash.com/index.php?name=Downloads&d_op=viewdownload&cid=13
but its not all too professional or powerful.

There is also a more professional and very good deinterlacer
over at Boris fx, in their Continuum film look unit you
    could take a look at.

But i have my personal solutions for this prob elsewhere.

Sorry, never had that experience before with Vegas,
but with other applications….Normally i run the
disc check utility to clear out the cobwebs (start
run-type in chkdsk c:/f then restart the pc)
or i completely re-install the software all together.

I dont know if you are aware that you can insert your DVD
and import it right in Vegas…..
Just go to “fileimportDVD Camcorder Disc” and your
DVD will be imported (ripped…lol), to the timeline in the
mpeg2 format and all in the proper sequence.

Most digital still cameras uses the motion-jpeg codec when
    handling videos.

January 28, 2009 at 10:14 am in reply to: Broadcast Colors

First thing, if your project is geared for broadcast, you
cannot be using your PC Monitor for viewing your final output.
You need a properly configured broadcast monitor to be doing
your viewing in or at least a well tuned television.

Adjusting your colors for broadcast specs will look odd
on your pc monitor..(as you are seeing)….you need to
have an ieee firewire external preview hooked up.

You are using the histogram…Personally i often use the
vectorscope for a clearer view of making sure that all color
levels are within the legal broadcast limit.

I would recommend you take a look at the Plextor or Pioneer brands.

January 27, 2009 at 9:15 pm in reply to: OT: what brand/model dvd burners you use?

Hard to pinpoint what the problem could be..because you are
on track with your burning. But first, instead of rendering
out your audio separately as AC3, use Wave instead and see if
it still hangs…(and make sure you try using a
mpeg2 video stream template). if problem persists try re-installing DVDA
    and see.

January 27, 2009 at 9:02 pm in reply to: Adding Adorage Effects to Vegas?

While installing i think you should see an option to tick
the host you want Adorage to be installed as a plugin in.
After installation, you then open up Vegas and you should
then see your Adorage filters in your Transitions window.
