Thanks Andy – option 1 worked very well so I’ll work with that. I got a little lost on option 2, but I’m finding the tutorials on your website very helpful indeed. Coincidentally, I’m currently in Exeter, the town on the map in your first tutorial!
    Thanks again for your help,
    All the best,
    Steve.

    Thanks Zac,

The Starfield emitter doesn’t have a Drag scaler but the Blur-1 1 inside it does. So I’ve adjusted that between the minimum f zero and the maximum of 10 and I still can’t can’t get the stars to stop moving or to move extremely slowly.

Thanks very much for the suggestion, I’ll keep experimenting.

    Cheers,

    Steve.

    Thanks Alvin,

As a temporary fix-it I transferred my QuickTime file to my PC system and converted it in Premiere.

I feel so cheap and ashamed…

    Cheers,

    Steve.

October 6, 2009 at 12:21 am in reply to: Correct DVC Pro HD Set Up?

Since I wrote my last post I’ve diagnosed the problem as being with the deck.

I’ve taken a component signal direct from the deck to my monitor and it’s showing all the same picture faults.

    Dirty heads maybe?

Thanks very much for confirming that David, I guess AE is they way to go then…I don’t mind a bit of fake looking lightning, it’s for an 8mm promo anyway so it doesn’t have to be totally realistic, in fact I need it to look almost cartoon like.

    Shame Motion 3 can’t do it…

    Cheers,

    Steve.

May 29, 2009 at 1:50 pm in reply to: Field Dominance Issues

I reversed the field dominance, then selected ‘Not Set’ for field dominance and neither process yielded results.

So, I fixed this by exporting the entire clip as a new clip with the same settings (Aja Kona 625 DV PAL) then replaced the original clip with it in the timeline.

Problem solved. Although I can’t explain why.
