    Hello,

Here’s a strange one…I shot a multicamera gig, all SDI, and the TX recording is spread over 2 DV Cam tapes.

I’ve digitised them and put them in my timelne, one after the other.

I’ve added chapter markers at the front of each song and exported the whole gig as one Quicktime file.

I’ve imported the Quicktime file into iDVD, picked a menu template and made a DVD straight to disc.

Here’s the strange bit – the first half of the gig on the DVD (digitised from tape 1) is playing with reversed field dominance and looks awful. The second half of the gig (from tape 2) is fine.

Both tapes are from the same gig and recorded on the same machine. Both were digitised using the same machine. Both are showing as Lower Field First in their settings.

Why would this be? Should I reverse the field dominance on tape 1 to try to correct the issue?

    Thanks very much,

    Steve.

I reversed the field dominance, then selected ‘Not Set’ for field dominance and neither process yielded results.

So, I fixed this by exporting the entire clip as a new clip with the same settings (Aja Kona 625 DV PAL) then replaced the original clip with it in the timeline.

Problem solved. Although I can’t explain why.
