If the hum is consistent and you can capture a sample (1-3 seconds) of it, then use it to remove the offending sound in noise reduction.

You might try uninstalling Vegas and installing again.

I’d check the Event FX in your Vegas timeline for any filters that may be on. Opacity should be at 100% although you can dim the output by lowering the opacity.

  • Are you capturing using variable bitrate? I’d stick with constant bitrate until you isolate the problem. Also I’d use the MP4 recording setup in TME with the HD-PVR. Vegas seems to like MP4’s more then M2TS.

You may need to transcode the problem files to MP4. I’d use the included Arcsoft Media Converter that came with the HD-PVR and use a high bitrate setting at full 1080 resolution.

Sounds like you may have a bad image in the mix. Can you view all the images in the timeline?

Haven’t tried Vegas 11 but have you tried just rendering regular video out? Can you stretch out a single picture and render it out? If so, are you using different format images in the mix?
Have you tried rendering out to a lossless format, maybe just a short portion of your project.
Just a couple things I’d try.

Have you looked at Markers points and ranges. From these you can create playlists or loop the range by selecting the Loop button in the play/record controls or hit Ctrl-L. Hit M to add a marker. Right click to change a marker point to a range. Drag to change the range.
In the Help file in Audition search for Working with Markers. CS-5.5

.svg is scalable vector graphics file format.
Vegas usually asks to associate .veg files to Vegas the first time you run Vegas.
Rendering is the act of saving the video to a new file. Any file transformation or transcoding is a rendering process. When you save in Vegas you are saving the settings for the project.

As for your first problem, do the videos play with a windows video player such as VLC, DivX player or Windows Media Player. There are countless other players too.

my guess is that there are settings in your built in sound card that add the reverb. Try opening the audio mixer for the sound card and check the output settings, you’ll probably find settings for adding reverb effect and this can be turned off.

You might try using another program to record the audio, such as Audacity https://audacity.sourceforge.net/download/windows
But you should probably just uninstall Audition and then reinstall.
