I have just installed Sony Vegas Pro 11. I created a short time lapse from pictures. I have saved the file in Vegas, but when I try and render it (and I have done it in a few different formats) I get only a black screen in the new video – is there a setting that I might have missed?

Haven’t tried Vegas 11 but have you tried just rendering regular video out? Can you stretch out a single picture and render it out? If so, are you using different format images in the mix?
Have you tried rendering out to a lossless format, maybe just a short portion of your project.
Just a couple things I’d try.

How did you make the time lapse?
    What formats have you tried?

I imported the photos for the time lapse by opening still image sequence.

I then tried rendering with Windows Video Media V11(.wvm) – 8mbps 1080-30p Video – which actually now does have video in the rendered version – but only for the first 3 seconds. After that it is nothing but black once again.

Sounds like you may have a bad image in the mix. Can you view all the images in the timeline?
