Distribute it how? Play it back on what? Which settings? Did you deinterlace?

Various tools? I use the Adobe Media Encoder just like I did with DV.

What is your ultimate goal? Where are you playing the video?

I play mine on my AVeL Linkplayer2 and generally export to a 8Mbps stream. If I was going to play it on a PC, I would probably use 5Mbps.

I doubt it will speed it up. But it will be less likely to have errors caused by a bottleneck. And it is easier to clean up the drive by deleting everything, defragging, and starting your preview files for the next project from scratch – when you have nothing but deletable files on the disk.

If you mean that the project file itself requires less Bytes than before, I imagine it is because it is written from scratch, whereas the original file had lots of sequential changes to deal with.

I keep the assets and the project on the video drive, and the preview files on another. So basically, I keep stuff that needs to be archived on one, and stuff I regularly delete on another. Then I back up old projects on external drives so it does not take so long to defrag, which I do regularly.

You convert them with the HDLink software that comes with Cineform Aspect HD.

Otherwise it takes almost four times as much bandwidth to transfer the files ig someone converts them for you.

For my own purposes, I just like to have the best tools, mainly because I just like to have them. I don’t actually “need” anything new. But I am going to have some cash for toys since I am selling my DVStorm board. Not much, but I can throw in a few hundred extra if I want to.

But as far as I can tell, Procoder just isn’t in my immediate future.

Are you considering a 720p or 1080i? The link to https://www.royaltyfreehdtv.com/ is all 720p out of a JVC, mine is 1080i out of a Sony HDR-FX1.

Do you want the M2T file so you can convert it yourself, or the Cineform AVI file (almost 4 times the size)?
