I thought my explanation of using separate titles was clear, but in retrospect, I can see I was not detailed enough. I meant for you to use 7 tracks. The video on one, and a title on each of the tracks numbered 2 through 7.

Let’s do it a different way. You can simply make one title with three boxes drawn on the title, and three streams of crawling text. When you make each box, set the opacity of the fill to what you want. Just remember that 0% is invisible and there is no point in having an invisible box.

The camera does not exist. So you are correct that it could take a while before it could be edited natively. But you can be sure that Adobe does not announce things until they are just about to release it. So about 30 days before it is available, they’ll let us know.

Larry, you are finally holding one of these events when I might actually be able to attend! My travel plans for next week were cancelled. So I signed up.

I would like to see the Axio. I don’t know that I really need it since my workflow with Cineform Aspect HD 3.0 works for me, but it would be interesting to see the advantages that Matrox has supplied. I am also curious if the limitations that the RTX has are also a problem with the Axio, like the voiceover on the timeline issue.

You could simply use six titles. Three that just have backgrounds for the text. You could then set the opacity to your preference. Then three that have the text. That would allow you to easily time them at different starting points.

Or, you could create one background in Photoshop so the opacity could be handled there.

I just set up an 8 foot long folding table and that was enough room for the tower, two monitors, a printer and a scanner. No drawers so I bought a couple of 3 drawer cabinets for under the table. Works for me. And no hassle getting to the cords. Looks a bit sloppy I suppose, but works great.

You can handle production audio as independent mono files. He doesn’t want them independant. He wants them both assigned to the same video clip to work with them all as a set. I am not sure why a nested sequence does not work for him.

Assign shortcuts to grouping and ungrouping. Sorry, that’s the best I can offer.

Unless you put the video and two mono clips in a sequence and edit the nested sequence instead of the clip.

The files are DV AVI. There are applications designed to convert them. In fact, I think Quicktime Pro can so the job to convert to various Quicktime codecs.

I am surprised that Avid can not read a DV AVI. Are you sure about that? Have you tried?
