I just got Avid and i am trying to transfer all of the footage that i captured in adobe premiere pro into avid. I assumed the best way to do so is to transfer those clips to quicktime files, then into avid. But, i cannot figure out how to get these clips to change? Maybe im crazy and stupid, but i cant figure it out?? please help!

With your clips on the timeline…File>Export>Movie>settings>general…Quicktime as the File Type.
Then Video… and Avid DV as the Compressor.

Thats the olny way i can do it is off the timeline? cause that just would make all the clips one large file right? Then i would have to cut them up in avid and rename them?

The files are DV AVI. There are applications designed to convert them. In fact, I think Quicktime Pro can so the job to convert to various Quicktime codecs.

I am surprised that Avid can not read a DV AVI. Are you sure about that? Have you tried?
