I believe MPEG Streamclip can take an FLV and convert it to and edit codec.

As stated before the quality will be terrible though.

All else fails. uninstall and re-install.
If that doesn’t work the guys at AJA are very helpful even if you are out of support they will do some simple things to try and get you working.

Ah ha. That makes more sense.

Fat 32 drives have a file size limit on them.

Double check the file structure of the drive.
Right Click on it and choose Get Info.
If it says Fat32 it will need to be reformatted to HFS and the you should not have any problems.

I was thinking that too Dave, but according to his post he can copy another file over 4GB to the Flash drive.

“3. I tried another Q. T. mov with a lower gb (4.5gb) and the Flash drive accepts it.”

And he can export directly to the flash drive

“4. When I export the timeline from the FCP timeline as a qt mov directly to the Flash — it accepts it.”

I think you can also type in a number to the crop like 1.3 or 1.25.
just keep adjusting it until you get a thread you like.

    Thanks Tom.

That’s kind of what I’ve seen also and the things that are out are for DAW’s or FCPX.

    Bouke;

I have kind of seen the same thing.

We send 2 shows to Lifetime one they have no problem with the other they are constantly complaining about the Loudness.

I’ve never seen this happen before, but have you tried moving the project to a different HD?

That’s the first place I would look.

That will tell you if it’s something with the drive or the project.

  • If you delete the original clips and replace them in the same location with the same exact name, you should not need to reconnect the media.
Final cut should see the clips are there just link they have always been.

If you have to re-link then they are in a different location or named a little bit differently.

    Steve.

  • Yes. If you are trying to have it automatically update to the new Color Corrected clips they need to be named the exactly the same as the original. You could put them in a different folder and just point to the folder when it is asking to search for them.

The other option is to highlight the entire sequence, right click and then re-link them to the clips with the new names.

You will have to uncheck “Matched name and reel only”.

    Thanks. I’ve seen these too.
We are running FCP 6 and I’m not sure if I will find anything for that.
Just wanted to see how others are dealing with this new spec.
