I am going to paste your email response here to help others.

This is one of those files that looks simple, but has
a bunch of extra stuff in it that confuses the Invigorator.

Here’s what I did:
– I Released the Compound Path
– I Released the Crop Marks
– I Ungrouped the objects
– I deleted all of extra elements that weren’t necessary
(there were a lot of little duplicate objects)

Once I did that, I ended up with just the outlines for the letters,
and it imports correctly.

The thing that drives me crazy about this is….I went th rough this 6 months ago, and finally figured it out through a bunch of searches. Now I can’t find those same posts.

I was reading one of your other posts where you did that for someone. I was not able to follow how you helped him. I won’t be able to access the file until later today. Basically the logo is a very simple live trace of 7 letters. All of them are separate from each other, except for 2 letters touch just a bit and are joined together.

How about Premiere? Will it do the same thing as AE with the compression?

Just animate your anchor point to the back wheels when the front wheels hit the ramp. Then rotate the cart so the front of the cart lifts up a bit. After the front wheels go over the ramp, animate the anchor point to the front wheels. Now animate a rotation to lift the back wheels onto the ramp. It will be easy to animate the rotation of the wheels, but you will need to find the correct speed to make it look right. I am not sure if this is what you want.

3D would be the way to go. If you don’t have that. Try something like this. (I am currently in a 10 hr AE render right now, so I can’t test anything I say.) It seems like you could get close by using 2 separate layers. Use cc page turn on the first layer. When the page turn gets half way through, do a quick dissolve to the second layer. You will need to do a reveres page turn on that page. Might need to precomp it then reverse the speed maybe even flip it horizontally(text would need to be mirrored if this is the case). Use lots of motion blur or force motion blur. Thre might be some type of limitation, but worth a try.
I only used cc page turn once. I think there is a setting to direct an image/layer on the back side of the page. I am not sure if cc page turn flips just the layer, or the entire comp size. If it’s the latter, I don’t think my idea would work.

It may have something to do with the original color of the solid you are working with. I seem to notice a better glow when the color has more white or saturation. Make sure to watch the tutorials of Andrew Kramers. The light saber and light streaks tuts should help you some. He has some newer versions of these tuts on his own site. http://www.videocopilot.net

I have the same problem. The radius, intensity and threshold don’t seem to give me the effect I am looking for. Watch Andrew Kamer’s tutorials. He discusses glow. I can’t seem to get the same amount of glow that he does.

Steve was right on with his comment on AE is like running a race in cement shoes. You really need an NLE to go with AE. I hate having to go back and forth, but it seems to be the only way that works for me.
