Shot a still this morning – from the projector to right wall is 24 feet, cam to podium 41 feet, cam to back wall 47 feet to give you an idea. I like Todd’s comment, but this cam has no filter threads so you’d need to rig it a bit, but it is possible. (Image not showing in eamail, need to read the thread)

I have the canon vixia hf-r50 similar to Walter and it’s pretty idiotproof. Will record 9 hours in MP4 format on a 32gig card. Audio in jack. Around $249. 1 unit, 1 connection. Bulletproof.

Do you have control of the ambient/ceiling/window lighting? You can turn off all the lights and primarily light your subject, letting the light fall off the background, keeping the wall fairly dark so it’s not so obnoxious.

Well Bob, *technically*, a 20 amp circuit should have these type of outlets. Roughly 2400 watts on the circuit.
A 15 amp outlet does not have the horizontal tab, and roughly 1800 watts on the circuit. So looking at the outlets can give you a very general idea of avail power.I believe the National Elec Codes states only 4 outlets per circuit in a commercial structure, unlimited for residential, but I think most electricians keep it to 8 outlets. (I’m no engineer and this is for thought only.) AND these ratings are for non-continuous loads, which hot lights are not.

I have a paid account for 6 users with getharvest.com, more robust than Toggl.com, we’re looking into wrike.com. (but for its robust-ness, it might take a degree to have it be efficient). None seem to let 1 person track multiple events like you discuss – would be great! Like you we track render time, upload time, editing time, and everything else for about 12 or so functions.
For free and easy, get 3 free toggl accounts. You’ll still need to add up the accounts though. We capture tons of “would be lost” time. And the reporting in Harvest is great. Feel free to ask specific questions.
