Livestream is a free encoder https://livestream.com/producer/software and use it with a Blackmagic input device. I use the BM Mini studio Recorders via thunderbolt on a mac. I now use Wirecast Pro for all the features, but for simple stuff Livestream is great.Steve

My guess is the rolling shutter of the camera. Curios if you turn the camera 90 degrees, do you get the same effect? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rolling_shutter

I handle this in 2 ways. The first is with a KeyDigital KD-CATHD-150, specifically to connect a consumer camera’s HD out to a switcher or to feed a projector. Works wonderfully, good for 250′.

Note that this model https://www.kanexpro.com/item/?id=EXT-HDSDIX CANNOT be used to convert consumer camera HDMI out as the mini or microHDMI do not supply voltage and will not be recognized on the input side. You need to add this in the chain first. https://www.kanexpro.com/item/?id=HDREPEAT10GThis one is my fav, https://www.kanexpro.com/item/?id=EXT-SDI3GX, I run HDSDI to a monitor, connect via HDMI, then loop HDSDI to another monitor at yet another location. The only issue with this method is if there is any interruption in the chain, anything downline is also affected (as opposed to feeding multiple monitors from a DA at the head).
I’ve never had “touchy” HDMI cables (but take plenty, they’re essentially disposable) but connectors on projectors are not the best. I usually gaff tape everything in place and reduce stress on the connections.

Check out local, large format scanning services in your area that cater to engineers for blueprints and large documents. I have used these guys (local to me) in southcentral PA, https://www.johnsonimaging.net/ Very reasonably priced for 24×36 scans. Find an off-time/not busy for your vendor to do some test scans while-yo- watch so you know exactly what you are getting.

Purchased v6 for my project and it worked very well. Will have to dive into it more, but functionally was pretty cool to use and endured for my 60-hour live webcast.

Not a whole lot of value, but they are legal freqs in other countries. I sold mine on ebay a few years ago for about $200.
