Thank you for your quick reply, i obviously got confused by the following in the manual!
Playback formats supported by Io Express include:
• DVCPRO HD
• DV25/DV50
• SD Uncompressed
• Apple ProRes 422 HD/SD (Mac Pro and MacBook Pro only)
• HDV
• XDCAM
• XDCAM EX, XDCAM HDSteve

Does it work to read SxS cards with AMA on an avid?
or Log and transfer on fcp?any one tried to see if it can use the current drivers on a mac?

Did any one get a solution to this?
I’m editing tape XDCAM onto HDCAM (HDW 2000) and am finding that all of my edits are 2 frames late (on out and in)
This is with a sony BVE2000 with the correct VTR constants.

the aja xt is at present also he only io that has thunderbolt loop through. (it has its own power supply)
The others will need to be on the end of the chain.
I use an external monitor, 23′ cinema screen, off my thunderbolt so that HAS to on the end of the chain!Steve

at the top of the source window you can select which audio track to use.
Also whether to cut audio with video or not.If the audio is already in your sequence ret click segment and choose your track ( you can also do this with video, to change selection without adding an edit point.)

You can also just load the sequence into the source monitor, ( you can view this time line by the view source icon bottom left below timeline, no need to load into edit monitor first.) mark an in and out
then just cut ( overwrite or insert) the required tracks directly into the new sequence.
No need for another key to prevent nesting like fcp.Remember that RTAS operates on a whole track and do not transfer from one sequence to another.

The problem I had was after purchasing the continuum boxed set, each application has to be downloaded and authorised separately. They all have very similar names!
As I have CS6 ( and CS5.5) , Avid MC6 , fcp7 and fcX on my machine, knowing what to install or upgrade was and still is a big problem.
a login into my web account don’t even show my continuum product or the sub products I get with it.
Could not there be an application to scan the boris installed and then update download accordingly to latest versions. ( as there is for adobe)
Is there a chart any where boris download/ upgrade for each, dates would help.
I have a boris folder in applications with may boris “sets” in separate folders, it would be good to know what I need and what is old!Steve

That would be useful,
I don’t at present import many P2 files mainly XDCAM and H264 from a camera card.
Each edit application PP, MC, FCP is able to import/link in different ways,
i’m just not certain of any use for prelude in my caseAs a freelancer I have many different edit packages, so I can mix and match, as my clients require.
In the old days we stuck to one make of editing application and its auxiliary utilities, now often several are available which “do the same thing”
It would be good to see them compared. ( i.e. also compressor, squeeze, media encoder)

This may be a silly question but WHY prelude? I have just upgraded to CS6 and find it on my laptop!
There is no specific prelude forum, bust as it was mentioned here…As an editor, on my laptop I have Avid MC6, FCP7 and X, CS6, together with stream clip, compressor and squeeze etc.
Why and when would I use prelude over the other imports to the above editing applications, especially directly into Premier pro.
Would it have any use to my workflows?

On a PC holding alt-cntrl when you select an edit point with the mouse will park on the out going frame ( ctrl to park on the in point.) or mark clip (T) and go to out!
