You should find that once you record on the UVW and then play the tape back it’s all fine.
Try that and see if the playback image is back in the right position.

I don’t even bother with the composite signal feed from the M100 to our UVW and
always get a non-sync error message on the UVW and a picture that ‘rolls’ on the monitor… but it still records just fine.

Is your composite source from m100 going to the UVW on a particulary long cable? or passing through
any other devices (like a switcher)? Because it sounds like there is a timing issue on your cabling.

One thing I’d try is making sure ‘put hard drives(s) to sleep when possible’
is NOT activated in energy saver in your system preferences.

A long shot only I’m afaid.

    Hi Pat,

V4.5 is going back a bit!
Yes you’re right that will not work on V4.5.
What you can do though is – create a ‘range’ on the timeline then ‘export range from edit suite’ and then re-import
    the exported file.

basically this is exactly what the other option I suggested does… except on newer media 100’s the process
is automated by an apple script. On V4.5 you have to go through each step manually – but it still will work.

Same here Chris, never had any issue with running Office (now the latest) and media100 on the same machine
    under OS-X. Currently run 8.2.2, OS 10.5, Office(latest) on a G4 dual1.25.
Do vaguely recall something that affected M100 under OS9 and Office… but can’t recall.

I’d be interested to know if the G-raid is actually the cause of your unexpected quits?
    I’m considering the same drive.

It might be the Firewire 800 card which is contributing to the problem – though I’m guessing,
no hard and fast experience with that raid or a firewire 800 card. Could the firewire800 card is adding some
    overhead to your throughput?

    I do however run M100 at between 220kb & 300kb using several drives including a non-raid
Lacie 1 terrabyte extreme disk running through the built in firewire800 on a G4 dual1.25 with no issue.
I keep the audio on scsi drives though.

M100 will only allow you top sync 1 video and a stereo audio track together. You can’t have multiple clips
synced. At least this is that case up until V8.2.2 – not sure about HD but suspect it has the same
    limitation.

A work around – creat a range over the clips you want synced – and use the ‘export range to bin’ script
    to creat one clip.
