Media 100i locks up when left alone for awhile
Media 100i XR 8.2.2, Mac OS 10.3.9, G-4 144 Dual. sony DSR 30
When I leave a program sit opened for awhile without doing anything,
when I do start to work again the rainbow ball spins and then I get the
message “could not complete your request because the Media 100i system
is locked up. Please save all documents and quit”. I close out and get
the message “unable to switch to selected deck”
I then open the project again and start over. But if I leave a program
sit for long without doing something in it I have to close out and
re-open it.Any ideas as to what is going on and how to stop this inconvenience??

One thing I’d try is making sure ‘put hard drives(s) to sleep when possible’
is NOT activated in energy saver in your system preferences.A long shot only I’m afaid.

You’re lonshot was right!! Thanks for taking the time to respond. This has been bugging me for a long time. I don’t know all there is about Mac and the settings.
