If it’s constant, I would have your camera serviced. Sometimes canned air can clean it. If it were me, I would send it in for repair. It’s well worth the investment.

Your hard drive is going to sleep. Go into your System Preferences/Energy Saver and uncheck put the hard Disk(s) to sleep

I would like to see the difference between an 8 bit output via HD-SDI to a Ki Pro and direct Log and Transfer to Pro Res via FCP.

There has to be some compression hit when going to CF card.

Why go the MXF route when you can easily hook up the AJA Ki Pro or Ki Pro Mini and record directly to Pro Res?

For the price of the C300, I would opt for the Sony F3. The F3 is shipping now.

Reading up on Replace Edit will help you with exact steps. F11 shortcut. In/Out points and where your playhead is makes a difference. That’s under Help Tab.

No playback problems. There is a limit if you push your system too far. That goes with any system.

There is no current product out there that will do what you want. The Matrox MXO2 line (non-Thunderbolt) is perfect for you.

Connect via Express34 and get a FW800 Raid such as G-Tech RAID Mini.

When I travel, I use that configuration on My 2011 TB 17″ MBP with MXO 2 and it performs very well.

You need a 7200 rpm SATA hard drive that is formatted HFS+ using Firewire 800. Bottom line, your hard drive is not fast enough.
