Very odd behavior. I use Shotput Pro to back up my P2 cards to 2 drives via the PDC35 card reader. Sometimes the PCD2. I use Log and Transfer and have no problems.
Shotput Pro will verify the offload.
I would check with a different card reader to start.

The LCD monitor is very limited in calibration. You can only adjust color, brightness and contrast. It is reference only. If you need more critical, connect an hd monitor via Component.

Just so you know, you won’t be able to use FCP’s Multicam edit feature. That is unless ALL frame rates and frame sizes match. That is why it is so much easier using the same cameras on a multi cam shoot.
Only you can make that decision.

Edit everything in HD then export QT movie and drop that into Compressor and make an SD DVD. Make sure 16:9 is selected in the aspect ratio (Inspector/Video Format). Easy way to do this is click on the gear.

Have you ever owned a tape based camera? The cost of tape whether MiniDV, DVCAM, DVCPro, Betacam, etc. adds up over time. In the life of a camera, you could easily spend $3000-6000 in tape stock. You wouldn’t dare reuse your tapestock unless you don’t mind dropouts in your precious videos.
P2 cards are reusable. The A and R series are supposed last infinitely. The E series, 5 years if used EVERY day. Most don’t fill their cards up every day. Maybe every 3 days or even a week. Do the math and your P2 cards will last a good 20 years. You could easily spend $10,000 in tape stock over a 20 year period. How much is a 64GB P2 card? $650! I think the price of P2 cards are very justifiable.

This is correct. They should have taught you this in film school. You need to shoot 24pn.
