How old are your batteries? A/B rates them to 3 years. Do you keep your batteries on the charger when not in use? A/B recommends this. How many watts do you put out? Camera, light and LCD.

I have to say, I have never had a problem with my HPX500 or any other full size camera I have owned or used where my hand on the focus ring made the camera go out of focus by accident.

Compressor does an excellent job. Choose one pass CBR around 6.

If you want, Compressor will select the best setting for you by clicking on the gear.

If you do not feel that Compressor is doing a good enough job for you, look at Episode Pro, Sorenson or Adobe Media Encoder.

When you shoot with a lower shutter speed, just like film, always use a tripod. Keep pan and zooms to a bare minimum.

Now I can say Upgrade to FCPX v10.0.3 and you can do this. Without transcoding to the same format, frame size or frame rates.

I have the CompressHD card from Matrox that creates h.264 for Blu-Ray in record time. Drop that file into Toast add ac3 file and create BD disc.

Encore CS5.5 workflow hopefully in a few weeks.

Render timeline completely. Export QuickTime Movie (Apple-E). Do not change anything. Drop that file into Compressor choose a preset and hit submit. Much better results than exporting using QuickTime Conversion.
