  • An iMac would be the perfect system for you. Ditch FCP 6 and go with Adobe Premiere or FCP X. FCP X will be a new learning curve.

[Lisa Olshanski] “their specs ask for ProRes, CBR 15-30Mbps”
ProRes does not fit into those specs. You cannot adjust the bit rate for ProRes.
Ask Hulu again what their specs need to be.

    ProRes Proxy= 36 Mbit/s
    ProRes LT = 100 Mbit/s
    ProRes 422 = 147Mbit/s
    ProRes HQ = 220 MBit/s

  • I’d take a look at Imagine Products PreRollPost. Expensive but may be what you need.

It’s worth it. I’ve seen the HPX 170 in the $1700 price range.

I’m guessing you are mixing codes on the same timeline. Hopefully you are not mixing frame rates (29.97 and 23.98)

Prores is 1920×1080 and HDV is 1440×1920.

The correct way to edit would be convert the HDV footage to Prores before editing.

Making your clips HQ will not improve your video. Just file size.
