Boot from an internal system HD. Do you happen to have your media files on your external boot drive? That may be the cause of your problem

The review I read called it a Consumer camera that uses the Fujinon lens that is used in Professional cameras.

These days, you can call anything Prosumer. Unfortunetely, when you get these cameras in the wrong hands, you are asking for trouble. They are going to flood this forum with their problems. Looks like it’s time to start a new forum on the Cow.

This camera is CONSUMER not Prosumer! This is JVC’s new HD version of Panasonic and SONY’s AVCHD.

If all else fails, Blackmagic makes the low cost Intesity card. You can go HDMI out of the Camera into the Intensity card.

The HD7 records onto an internal hard drive. Your best luck is to open the files using MPEG Streamclip (https://www.squared5.com) and export as QuickTime DV NTSC.
