  • I’ll agree with Shane. In the future, when shooting 4K and above, shooting wide will give you better results. It will be a long time when we start shooting regularly in 4K.

You want to make sure you have a ProRes 422 48kHz-24bit audio. Normal setting for audio is 48kHZ-16bit.

Drop a clip in your timeline and let FCP create the correct sequence setting.

All depends on which edit system you are working on and what version. I’ll assume FCP but don’t know what version. If 6 or 7, just log and transfer and make sure you select Remove advanced pulldown in the L & T preferences.

[Laura Seltzer] “how we can import the entire file?”

My recommendation would have been to Log and Transfer the mp4 footage. That is IF, you have the COMPLETE card structure from the original camera.

You can create this in Motion.

Look at the Templates that are included with FCS.

Lock and Load from CoreMelt just uses the part of the clip that you need not the entire clip like FCP does.

March 29, 2013 at 6:07 pm in reply to: Media manager questions… Finessing a backup

You do not have to media manage from the timeline. You can select your sequence from your browser and select media manager to delete the unused media on your hard drive (not memory, that’s RAM).
