I’m editing on FCP7 and have several hours of a workshop that needs to be edited. Our primary camera was shot on MP4 format and a second camera recorded the power point presentation on a miniDV. When footage is on the timeline rendering is taking a VERY long time. So we’re converting the files to Pro Res 422 to quicken the render and edit time.
Question – We tried to import the MP4 files into MPeg Streamclip, but the clips maxing at 16 minutes (files are approx 30 mins long.) Any ideas as to why this is happening and how we can import the entire file?
    Any advice is much appreciates!

[Laura Seltzer] “how we can import the entire file?”

My recommendation would have been to Log and Transfer the mp4 footage. That is IF, you have the COMPLETE card structure from the original camera.
