I have taped one wedding, and just like anyone else, we can all do it in fully auto. I am just overwhelmed by all the settings. I just want to be able to manipulate the camera to the best of my ability to achieve what the camera is able to do. Just like, for example if I am capturing the bride in her dress, in a solid white room (where she is getting ready) naturally it is goig to be washed out, what is the best thing to do, so I have some contrasr between her and the rest of the room?

Hmm, let me see. Well, I already have that book, and dvd. Although it is well done, it doesn’t help me any. DVD is just examples of what the camera can do, does not show you how to. And like I said, I HATE to read, I just don’t have the attention span when I read, I get bored real quick (I know, my problem), but that is why I would like something that explains in detail, the camera. And the other one that you found (CallBox). Seen it already also, and it is geared to Final Cut Pro, and what you can do in editing with the camera, not just about the camera. I don’t like Apples, so I don’t use FCP. I use Vegas 6.0. So, you see, I am way ahead of you. I would not have asked without checking on these things first. Been checking about 8 months already.
Nice to know that you can’t ask a question here, without getting a rude response. Not all of us have experience with, or around these camera’s, and I believe that nobody would know anything, if they didn’t ask for help every now and then.
Thanks so much for the kind response!!!

Okay I will try, but I am using Taiyo Yuden. I was told these are about the best.

The hesitations I noticed on the finished DVD, and there was one time on the DVD that it totally froze, and the only way that I could get out of it was to restart the DVD. But I was also playing back on the computer and it is doing it also (but has never froze up on computer.) Sometimes it hesitates during playback after rendered, and I back it up to go over the same area and sometimes it doesn’t do it the second time, sometimes it does.

The bit rate used is whatever the default setting is for Vegas 6. The DVD quality is a Taiyo Uden or however it is spelled. The players are a Sony & a Akai. The burn speed was at 8x, and there is no label on the disc.

When I do that, on the left side it shows as a broken link, and when I go to preview, it doesn’t pay. This is what I do:
    1. Drag a Heart Button onto the menu background
    2. Highlight that Heart Button, and go to the right side and click “Thumbnail Media.
    3. Click on drop down menu
    4. Click “Replace”
    5. Type in file desired & location.
    What am I doing wrong?

I appreciate all you guys giving your feedback on this issue. I was just wondering for the price of the VX2100, should I just buy a AG-DVX100B Panisonic. Seems like a lot more camera for the money than the VX2100. Then if I ever want to shoot in 24p, I can.

When you grab the top left or right corner of an event, to make it fade in, or out. I was trying to get it to slowly fade out. It has always worked, unless I have toggled something on or off by mistake
