    Hi Shannon,
In the timeline, there’s a drop-down menu. Make sure “Playback frame rate is set to FULL”. I occasionally set my playback to half b/c I don’t like to lose time rendering clips with lot of effects on them. If I can go an entire session without rendering, I”m happy.

Thanks Eric. Recently, we’ve had some concerns about customers only purchasing small quantities of their event film and then copying it. This can really hurt a small business.

    Zane,
Could you perhaps suggest some ways to get this done ? If not FCP then perhaps CS5 ?

    thanks again!

    Zane,

I’m asking about copy protection. Lets remove ‘encryption’ from the post altogether. I would like to copy protect my BluRay. Is this possible with FCP share functionality ?

    thanks again.

Nope. shutter can be anything above 2x the frame rate. the most important proof is that the clip plays smoothly on my wife’s machine.

I think its a playback setting. I took the stuttering clip and exporting to a quicktime movie (make movie self contained).

I then opened the exported .mov clip in the FCP viewer and it stutters. BUT….If I open the exported clip in quicktime, its SMOOTH.

    Hi Chris,

Its an internal drive. Here’s where it gets stranger. My wife is on the same setup as mine and the same raw clip transcoded by her machine, plays smooth in FCP viewer and canvas. I copied her sequence settings tab for tab.

  • Hi Peter,

I use motion to make my scrolling ending credits and then export the motion file as a quicktime movie. In FCP and on the finished DVD’s, the credits stutter/shake. I also noticed they do this when not scrolling. I’ve noticed this among quite a few hollywood films as well. However, some hollywood films don’t have this issue and the credits will scroll very smoothly.

    Any ideas ?

In motion, I create a left and right side. Text Behavior-> scroll text. Export as quicktime movie. Since motion can’t playback my project real-time its difficult to figure out where the problem is happening.
