They will need Avid and FCP to support JPEG 2000 before they start to make any serious sales, so far there is no word on that, but it should be an interesting NAB!

That’s true – and with the pictures I’ve seen so far there is noise in the HVX pictures, but no more than you would expect from small chips.

I’ll bet FCP has MXF support in the next few months, they did announce it last year as a feature in development.

You can’t capture HDV at all in 4.5 unless you have the third part Lumiere plug in.
You need FCP5 to capture and edit in native HDV

Soundtrack can do a remarkably good job of removing noise if it’s at a constant pitch, you should be able to maintain the bass tone of the voice as well – try it!
