HDV playback problems in FCP
Hello.
Working in Final Cut Pro HD. I have my new G5 connected to my Sony M10U deck via Firewire. I have the deck connected to a broadcast quality Sony PVM1954Q monitor.
The problem – when working in Native HDV on the timeline, full motion does not appear on the NTSC monitor just single frames of the HDV image at the start and stop points. I have tried many of the sequence set ups in the menus, I have also tried changing input and output functions on the deck via the internal menus of the deck, but can’t seem to get it.
I know that the signal path is connected correctly because
Full motion DOES appear on the NTSC montior when using
basic DV sequences.Any help would be appreciated it.

That’s because HDV can not be sent back out the FW in realtime like DV.

That’s right. You need an HD capture card in order to do this.
