Mark, are you running FCPX under Snow Leopard or Lion? I’m finding FCPX to be remarkably stable under SL but very buggy under Lion initially, I needed to do a completely clean install of Lion and FCPX before it had any sort of stability.

I switched to Adobe Encore for DVD and Blu-ray authoring a while and have found it to be a great replacement for DVDSP, it wasn’t difficult to learn either.

Yes, you are a very experienced professional who has been incredibly helpful over the years on the Cow, no-one is questioning that, I just think you do not need to resort to posts like the one above, when pursuing an argument?

Highlight the clip, click on the “audio” tab in the inspector on the right hand side, the channel configuration there enables you to switch off tracks. You can do this in the project window on the edited clip or in the event viewer on the whole clip.

You can also select a group of clips and do the same thing.

Alternatively you can right click on the clip in the Project window and select “break apart clip items” and adjust the auto level for each channel

Besides, I think you are placing more importance on the backwards compatibility that the user group here is. Apple killed their own product, leaving no room for transition (puts you in quite a pickle if you need new seats) while leaving a product that does not have the same functionality THAT IS REQUIRED FOR THE JOB AT HAND. How many times do we have to go over this point? Too much ignorance floating around here with the rabid FCPX fanbase it seems.

BTW, nothing you’ve said about your experience in any way validates your opinion.
