    Ok quick question,

I got FCPX on the first day and just installed it on the the same Disc as my FCP 7 and iIonly just saw the Apple recommended ways of doing this install.

Everything seems to work fine so no probs yet but what problems did they think it was going to cause??

Tee only thing i did was to install FCP X in to a folder called FCP 10 apps within the application folder.

    Anyone actually had any problems??

Not here. I’ve been using for over a month now and no issues.

You’ll wind up w/ broken FCP7 and Motion 4 after installing fcpx updates. There is plenty of info on this. Don’t take my word for it – check for yourself.

So anyone know the recommended partition size if you were to have a Snow leopard partition with FCP 7 on it???

Only have a 500GB 7200PRM hard drive in my Macbook pro

I had one problem in that my Final Cut Server found the new Compressor which did not have my proxy settings for FCS. It would not create the proxys. I ended up just sliding the old Compressor out of the FCS application folder into applications and it worked fine.

Yes you can have issues with FCP7 and compressor.

For example FCP7 won’t see Compressor until you remove v.4 out of the Application folder.
