I like to select multiple clips in he browser, and turn on the wireless channels only when I’m laying down my a-roll, then turn on the camera mic on my browser clips, and drop the audio level to -20 db to lay down my b-roll.

Another one of my favourite features of FCPX, it did take me a while to get into the habit of doing it though, worth mentioning that if you do this in the browser that it doesn’t apply it to clips already in the project.

I don’t get it very often, but it does happen. Instead of doing a safety “save” every hour (which you can’t do in FCPX of course” just check your “undo” is working every hour. That way you don’t risk any more than an hours work.

Hopefully the next release will see versions implemented.

Switch off background rendering in preferences, make sure your video quality is set to “better Performance”, make sure the automatic graphics card switching is set to off in OSX preferences.
