[matthew bradshaw] ”
life’s not worth a damn till… what? you can’t just leave us hanging there.
Matt.”I honestly can’t remember myself. I will have to listen to it when I get in the office tomorrow.
Lifetime’s S&P doesn’t really get involve to much since we are sending them a daily show there is not the time to scrutinize as much.
I will speak to them tomorrow and see what they say, and I’ll let you all know the outcome.
I agree it’s not the captioning companies place to say, but I guess there is some new guy trying to make points with someone hire up.

Thanks for the info.
After posting this I did a little more searching and found this on the FCC website itself…17. Further, we conclude that uses of the words
“Jesus,” “Jesus Christ,” “God,” “God damn” and its
variations, and “damn” and its variations, are not
actionable under section 1464 for the reasons set forth in
Raycom America, Inc., Memorandum Opinion and Order, 18 FCC
Rcd 4186 (2003).I will consult with Lifetime, but I feel it is safe to airs.

I have all my disk images on a Hard drive (actually a portion of my SAN) and when I need to re-install FCP I mount them all and then just start the install and it goes all the way thru with out asking me to do anything.

June 16, 2010 at 9:34 pm in reply to: Scopes in Final Cut are different from Machine to Machine.[Shane Ross] “And SHAME on you for using the Canvas to judge the quality of your image”
Shane I’ll accept you reprimand about the canvas.
I am not setting in the editors chair any more and took my editors word about the scope difference.I admit these levels were the same, but I know I did see an instance where a scene was legal in one room and then in the other the pink shirt the host was wearing was off the vector scope.
I’ll have to find a better example, because I know I’m not crazy I did see a difference between the 2 rooms.

June 16, 2010 at 8:07 pm in reply to: Scopes in Final Cut are different from Machine to Machine.[Andy Mees] “Hey Steve
How different … or different how? Would be best to post screen shots if you can. Or could it just be that your scope settings are different?”The projects are brighter.
Look at the attached images.
This is the same project on the same frame, the same color correction and filters are on both. All I did was open it in edit 3 park it on a frame and take a snapshot.
Then I opened it in Edit 4, parked it on the same frame and took another snapshot. The scope display settings that Andy referred to are the same on both systems.
Edit 4…
I have not had a chance to switch systems or graphics cards yet.

June 15, 2010 at 3:22 pm in reply to: Scopes in Final Cut are different from Machine to Machine.I will double check the scope settings and I have my editors pulling screen shots of the same frame from the same project on each system to post.
Thanks for the help.

June 15, 2010 at 3:19 pm in reply to: Scopes in Final Cut are different from Machine to Machine.[John Pale] “If it’s feasible, swap computers and see if the discrepancy follows the computer.”
Switching computers is a little more difficult.
The newer systems has the mini display ports were the other systems all have DVI and VGA outputs and all of our monitors (except the 2 in the new suite) are DVI connections.I’ll see what I can do about switching systems.

June 15, 2010 at 12:48 am in reply to: Scopes in Final Cut are different from Machine to Machine. All edit suites have BlackMagic MultiBridge capture devices.
The only difference between the other systems and the one that is off is that the other systems are MultiBridge Extreme and this is a MultiBridge Pro.Our footage is captured at out ingest station that has a MultiBridge Extreme and stored on a SAN that can be accessed by any room.
Open the project in Edit 3 the scopes show 1 thing and the open it in Edit 4 the new suite and the scopes show something different.

[Neil Gregory] “we use editshare at the moment”
Neil;
A little off the topic, but how do you like editshare?
We currently have a 20TB Rourke Data SAN connected thru fiber and managed with Command Soft’s FivreJet, we are looking into editshare.
Thanks;

[Michael Heldman] “Alan is right. It’s a pretty basic function and FCP should have it. It’s one of those features that Avid has had forever that I really miss in FCP. I’m sure there is a reason, deep in the ancient code of FCP, that this can’t be implemented now.
Let’s just hope that someone, deep inside the Kremlin…I mean, deep inside Apple Hdqts, is rewriting that code”
Yes this is a basic function, so basic as a matter of fact that the obsolete and now de-funk Live Type has the option to copy and paste keyframes.
Apparently all of the support applications of FCS, like LiveType, and Motion have this ability except the host application.
This is something that is very basic and there really is no sane reason why it should not be in Final Cut.
