I can’t speak for Adobe MAX, since I’ve never been, but I’m a regular attendee at the NAB Show in Las Vegas, and I seriously consider it some of the most well spent money that we spend. I can’t imagine that Adobe MAX wouldn’t be at least as useful, especially for an ‘Adobe-centric’ production house. I’ve been meaning to add it to my agenda.
Early on, the DV industry was advancing at a race car pace, and without attending such conferences you could easily have been run over by it. In recent years the technology has settled to a less frantic pace, but I still find conferences like NAB Show invaluable. Even if you bypass the classroom instruction available, you can learn quite a bit simply sitting through the Adobe Evangelists’ presentations. Plus, you can discuss things with them one-on-one.
