April 22, 2014 at 12:14 am in reply to: How to to do selective desaturation in Premiere like in this video? It’s known as the “Pleasantville Effect”, from the film ‘Pleasantville’. The only way to effectively get this look in Premiere is to use the ‘Change Color’ effect, and that only works with ranges of a single color.
After Effects is the tool to use. Search Google for it and you’ll find lots of tutorials. Just be aware that it takes quite a bit of tedious rotoscoping.

April 21, 2014 at 6:30 pm in reply to: Red Giant Plugins Missing after upgraded from CS6 to CC…I had the same problem happen when I switched from CS6 to CC. In my case making sure that the plugins were actually visible to CC still didn’t make them show up in PPro. Red Giant’s support, to their credit, battled it out with me, but finally ended up advising to uninstall then reinstall PPro CC, and then the plugins.
Normally this wouldn’t have been an issue, but since CC must be re-downloaded EVERY time you reinstall, and I happen to use an internet service that charges per bandwidth use, it can add up. Luckily, my service has a ‘free-zone’ from midnite til 5am, so there’s that.
Good news is, it works.

April 18, 2014 at 4:39 pm in reply to: Adobe Premiere – Importing Footage from SD Card Without Prelude? This camera records in both AVCHD or MP4, which should be compatible with Bulletproof. However, they have a free demo version available for you to determine for yourself. You could also ask Red Giant, or check out their forum here on the COW.

I’d never even heard of Vegasaur before I read your post, so I took a look. Since they have free versions of each effect, why don’t you download them and determine for yourself? I just did.

If you are simply converting your camera media to MXF, Adobe Media Encoder will do that in a batch. Keep in mind that MXF is merely a container format. Check to see if they have any specific codec requirements that the contained data must have.
