It’s hard to tell, the sample video is low quality. It looks like you have an interlace problem. The lines on the top and bottom of the boxes disappear because they are only one or two lines big. In FCP use the Flicker Filter. I hope this is what you where asking about.

[Dave Montague] Apple needs to put Motion back into beta. It’s buggy software at best. Anyone wanting to know, Adobe After Effects is proven and Motion is experimental. Don’t use it unless you are working on something you don’t care about.
I’ve used Motion on hundreds of projects with very little problems. A matter of fact, a lot of them I completed faster in Motion then I would have if I used AE. I’m not sure why you created a 38 minute long movie. Motion works best if you break your projects into pieces. I would leave the editing to FCP and the Motion Graphics to Motion.

Something I think you should keep in mind Sharon, your reel is what will get you the job. I always look at some ones reel before I touch their resume. Any one can say they can cut on an AVID but their reel will really show if they can or can’t. I would spend most of your time polishing your reel. At least that’s how I see it, I work for a small company. Maybe the bigger companies see it differently. Okay, I see what your saying. In the Project pane click on the “User Content” discloser triangle. Select the Rectangle Mask and then Open up the Properties tab. The Mask’s Opacity is set to 67%. Raise it to 100 and it will look less faded. All of the Text elements are set to 67% opacity as well. As for the background elements those are pre-built and not much you can do about it. Adding a Gaussian Blur filter helps hide grain. Hope this helps.
