Blast! (That is what Luke would say) Looks like Motion doesn’t like Microsoft, even if it is an .rtf. I guess I copy into TextEdit until they become friends.

In FCP I would add a Flicker Filter to the file to get rid of the flicker. Hope this helps.

Hit the command and R keys to render the file and then you can preview it in real time with out having to export it. Hope this helps.

Are you talking about the Text Sequence Behaviors. If so I think it would be easiest to un-instal and then re-install Motion. Check out this article for help on that: https://support.apple.com/kb/HT1885 Hope this helps.

Yep, just treat the file like you would if it was a video clip or artwork or something. It will require that you render the .motn file.
[jim] are you saying you “do” encounter the problem as i have described it i.e. ragged outer edges on text characters created in motion and imported into fcp
Yes, it is usually a setting problem. Motion defaults to Normal. You can go up to View, Then change the Render Quality to Best. That will sharpen up all of your text. This will make Motion run sluggish so don’t do it until your done or for previewing purposes. It and more is all covered in that article David attached in his post.
