Yeah, the error message is nothing to worry about. However, Motion crashing heavily is. Check out this article, I think it will be of help:

I probably won’t ever abandon AE – call me crazy but I like keyframes. What I want from Motion is the integration it offers for titles, and hopefully for building elaborate transitions.
Most Motion users I know use both AE and Motion. However, I find myself using Motion 95% of the time because I feel it is faster then AE for what I’m doing. I’m not sure what you dislike about Motions keyframe capabilities, I like its keyframe capabilities a lot. I love that you can use keyframes and behaviors together so you can get the best of both worlds. Take a look at this TV show open I did in Motion. I hope this shows that elaborate content can be built in Motion. And by the way, I feel I built this TV show open faster in Motion then I could have in AE. I hope this information is somewhat helpful.

There are also some great lower thirds included with Motion that are worth looking at. You can open them up directly in Final Cut Pro if you like. You have to be on Final Cut Pro 6 or 7 for that feature. Motion also gives you the ability to create your own motion templates to work with in Final Cut. There are tutorials here on the COW on how to do that. Best of luck and hope this helps.

I don’t own those plugins but I beat they have an updated version of the one your using. Download the newest update of FxFactory and you should be good. Hope this helps.

As for the gauges, you could always buy one off of a site like iStockPhoto. For example, take this temperature gauge I found: https://www.istockphoto.com/stock-photo-6834601-thermometer.php
Take it into Photo shop, cut out the arrow and use the clone tool to cover up where the arrow was and then animate the two layers.
For the time take a look at the industrial revolution decimal counter
Or go into Motion, Hit the Command and Two keys. Go to Generators, Numbers. Hope this helps.

You may want to start with Motion that comes with Final Cut Studio. I’m not sure what version of FCP your on but Motion has some cool gauges that you can customize. Open up Motion. Hit the Command and 2 keys to open up the Library tab. Go to Content, gauges. You also might like Gadgets. You then can adjust them however you want. Best of Luck.Stephen Smith

Be careful of that website. I’ve looked for footage there and someone marked it as no copyrights and trust me, it was copyrighted. The work I looked at was a bunch of copyrighted footage strung together in a montage. Maybe the person who submitted it was saying that the work they did in stringing the footage together was not copyrighted but the footage was and that was not made clear. Maybe it was a one time thing but it bugged me. Thanks for thinking about me and offering up help, I appreciate that.

Motion gives you the ability to change project settings (Except for Frame Rates). Go up to Edit, Project Pane and change the settings.
If you want to change project settings and frame rates create a new project with the right settings and drag the project from the old Project Pane to the new one and it will make the adjustment for you.
Be sure to make sure everything lined up right. You may need to make some adjustments. Hope this helps.
